Job summary

Octopus Electroverse is seeking a backend software engineer to help shape pricing and discounting, improve financial reporting, and expand our charging subscription offerings. You will work with a small, high-energy team to deliver robust back-end features at scale, playing a key role in our fast-growing electrification platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years software experience, preferably with Django or similar Python frameworks.
• Experience maintaining asynchronous processing systems (AMQP, Celery).
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Proficient understanding of Git.

Responsibilities

• Help us improve core product by developing and improving pricing and discount mechanisms.
• Assist in improving accuracy of financial reporting and payment success rates across providers.
• Expand existing charging subscription offering to add flexibility and scalability.
• Collaborate within a small specialized team to enable cross-functional product areas and high-quality delivery.
• Support Operations in resolving payments-related issues and help Finance build accurate reporting systems.

We're looking for someone who's passionate about code, curious, and eager to learn. You'll be working alongside the backend team that provides services for our Electroverse ecosystem in the electric vehicle and electrification space with focus on helping develop the core functionality of our business. As our business grows, we're looking to build commercial stability whilst ensuring robust, transparent and competitive pricing for our customers. You'll help us develop discounting solutions, monitor financial patterns, and consistently and reliably deliver value. We're open to the level you're applying on, if you don't feel like a Senior Engineer yet, but you tick all the boxes, we'll definitely consider your application. Our project is establishing itself as the leading e-mobility provider solution within the industry and we want to take it to the next level. This means we're working on big features which will give you the chance to have a huge impact and, given our ambitions in the electrification space, influence how the back-end scales to meet new challenges and create a wider ecosystem.
