Job summary

A market-leading technology company in Bristol is seeking a Software Engineer for a 12-month contract. The role includes designing and developing Command and Control architectures and solutions for next-generation Air Defence Systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in software engineering with C++ experience, along with knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems and middleware. Qualifications

  • Strong background in software engineering with system-wide impact.
  • Experience in entire software development process.
  • Familiarity with standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC61508.

Software Engineer

12 Month Contract
Based in Bristol
Offering £65 ph Inside IR35

Do you have experience with C++?
Do you have experience with Middleware or Real Time Operating Systems?
Do you want to work with an industry‑leading company?

As the Software Engineer, you will be working alongside a market‑leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry!

Responsibilities
  • Hands‑on continued design and development of Command and Control architectures, and the instantiations for future products.
  • Develop solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems.
  • Developing evolving products whilst maintaining our enviable reputation for safety, performance, and dependability.
Skillset
  • A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
  • Experience working in C++.
  • Experience working across the entire software development process.
  • Experience in other languages such as Ada, QT.
  • Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00‑55, DO‑178C or IEC61508 and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++.
