Job summary

Vanquis is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop and support secure, scalable software across Salesforce and MuleSoft ecosystems, delivering customer-facing features and integrations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability, governance and engineering excellence while growing your career in a fast-moving financial services tech environment.

Qualifications

• Professional software engineering experience across Salesforce, MuleSoft or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience delivering software solutions, APIs or integrations using modern engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integration concepts, component-based development and error handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software solutions, APIs and integrations that support customer and business services.
• Turn user stories, acceptance criteria and architectural guidance into secure, maintainable solutions.
• Apply engineering standards, testing practices, source control and deployment approaches to improve quality and reliability.
• Investigate incidents, defects and operational issues, implementing sustainable fixes and improvements.
• Work alongside Product, Architecture, Testing, Security and Operations teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Support controlled releases, operational readiness and post-implementation assurance activities.
• Contribute to peer reviews, engineering communities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support critical services through participation in a rostered on-call support rota.

You'll help deliver customer-facing features, APIs and integrations while contributing to platform improvements, operational stability and engineering excellence. • Salesforce - Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, security, metadata deployments and data modelling.

• Engineering Practices - Source control, pull requests, code reviews, automated testing and deployment pipelines.

• Professional software engineering experience across Salesforce, MuleSoft or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience delivering software solutions, APIs or integrations using modern engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integration concepts, component‑based development and error handling.
• Experience using source control, automated testing and deployment approaches.
• Ability to create clean, maintainable and well‑documented code and configuration.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with experience diagnosing technical issues through logs, telemetry and diagnostic tools.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical teams

Useful, but not essential

• Salesforce certifications and/or MuleSoft Developer certification.
• Experience working within regulated or financial services environments.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps tooling.
• Experience supporting customer‑facing platforms and operational services.
• Experience identifying and addressing technical debt, operational risks or performance issues.
