Job summary

Vanquis is hiring a Junior Test Engineer in the Bradford area to support testing across Salesforce, MuleSoft integrations and data flows. You will help design test cases, execute tests and document results while developing automation skills for future growth.

The role offers structured learning, collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and opportunities to progress toward a Test Engineer role within a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in software testing, automation, APIs or technology delivery.
• Develop knowledge of test planning, test design, execution, defect reporting.
• A structured and analytical approach, with clear communication and accurate record keeping.
• Willingness to learn, apply feedback and work collaboratively in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Support functional, API, integration, end-to-end and regression testing across defined technology changes.
• Create clear test cases, prepare test data and maintain accurate evidence and traceability.
• Record defects with reproducible steps and support retesting through to closure.
• Run existing automated test suites and help create straightforward automated tests using approved standards.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, data, operations and business testing teams.
• Build your technical capability through structured learning, coaching and practical delivery experience.

As a Junior Test Engineer, you'll support the planning, execution, automation and documentation of testing across Salesforce, MuleSoft integrations and enterprise data flows. • Salesforce - User journeys, configuration, data, security and integration behaviour.

• An interest in software testing, automation, APIs, data or technology delivery, demonstrated through academic study, a placement, internship, personal project or early professional experience.
• Developing knowledge of test planning, test design, execution, defect management and reporting.
• A structured and analytical approach, with clear communication and accurate record keeping.
• Willingness to learn, apply feedback and work collaboratively in a regulated environment.

Useful, but not essential

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level, or a commitment to work towards it.
• Exposure to Salesforce, MuleSoft, APIs, basic SQL or data testing.
• Copado Robotic Testing learning, Salesforce Trailhead badges or similar practical automation learning.
• Awareness of financial services or another regulated technology environment.

You’ll build capability through structured learning, coaching, peer review and practical delivery experience. As your confidence and technical depth grow, you’ll develop towards the broader ownership, judgement and autonomy expected of a Test Engineer.
