About the job

The Risk Solutions division seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test to join a talented team developing innovative products that enable SAS customers to deploy analytics and make decisions efficiently. You will impact customer experience and ensure product quality exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities include:

• Create test strategies, scenarios, and ideas with clear intent.
• Maintain high-quality test automation using modern techniques, supporting metrics-based decisions.
• Apply automated tests across all application layers, both inside and outside the continuous delivery pipeline.
• Produce and analyze quality metrics to guide engineering efforts.
• Promptly triage test failures, maintaining build health.
• Collaborate with development, product, operations, and support teams to embed quality in all work.
• Participate in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
• Protect users from defects, participate in support escalations, prioritize Customer Experience.
• Understand deployment, migration, security, and performance in the delivery lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years programming experience in Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with automation frameworks like Playwright, Pytest.
• Fluent with REST interfaces.
• Knowledge of software test development standards and procedures.
• Ability to design effective quality gates across testing layers.
• Expertise in a test automation framework with shareable code creation.
• Proficiency with source control, branching, code review, merging.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD solutions, understanding CI/CD infrastructure and security.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new areas.
• Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Dockerfile authoring and maintenance.
• Understanding Kubernetes components and cloud provider offerings.
