MCS Group is partnering with a technology organisation investing in AI, seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop AI-powered solutions. You will own projects from concept to production, exploring AI, LLMs and autonomous agents while delivering practical, high-impact software.

Role emphasizes hands-on AI development with a focus on delivering production-ready systems and thoughtful architecture. Remote work is offered with minimal travel.

MCS Group is working with an established technology organisation that is investing in AI and looking to appoint an experienced Software Engineer to help develop and deliver intelligent, AI-powered solutions.

This is an opportunity for a Software Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer who enjoys building things, experimenting with emerging technologies and solving real problems. You'll have the freedom to explore ideas, make technical decisions and take ownership of projects from initial concept through to production.

We're particularly interested in speaking with engineers who are already making practical use of AI in a commercial setting, whether that's building AI-powered applications, developing autonomous agents or finding new ways to automate complex processes.

If you're a Software Engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer who is already building with AI and wants the opportunity to take greater ownership of interesting technical challenges, I'd be keen to have a conversation.

The Role

• Design, develop and deploy AI-powered applications and automation solutions that solve genuine business challenges.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, identify opportunities and turn ideas into working software.
• Build solutions using LLMs, AI agents and modern software engineering tools.
• Integrate AI capabilities with existing applications, APIs, databases and third-party platforms.
• Develop and improve workflows involving retrieval, data processing, tool calling and agent orchestration.
• Test, evaluate and optimise solutions to improve reliability, performance and usability.
• Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from prototyping and technical design through to deployment and ongoing improvement.
• Explore emerging AI technologies and identify where they can deliver practical value.

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering experience, with the ability to independently design, build and deploy production-ready applications.
• Hands-on experience developing applications using LLMs, generative AI or agentic AI frameworks.
• Experience integrating software with APIs, databases and external systems.
• A good understanding of AI application development, including areas such as RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling and agent orchestration.
• Experience taking technical projects from initial idea through to production.
• A practical, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI, with evidence of personal projects, experimentation or commercial applications.
