Job summary

ASA Recruitment’s client in Glasgow is seeking a Software Developer in Test for an initial 6-month contract, hybrid working. The role focuses on building automated tests for in-house applications and ensuring reliable releases.

The rate is up to £500 per day outside IR35, dependent on experience. You will work within a small team, collaborating across infrastructure, delivery, and service management to translate complex concepts for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with test automation in CI/CD pipelines, esp. GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Playwright and/or Selenium/WebDriver.
• Strong Java and JavaScript knowledge.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and AWS services.
• MySQL scripting experience (2+ years within last 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for in-house applications.
• Coordinate and manage test schedules with the team.
• Build and maintain testing artefacts and automation where possible.
• Identify operational improvements to ensure a stable service.
• Mitigate project risks and support external testing partners.
• Create test frameworks and automation tests for releases.
