Certain Advantage seeks a Software Developer for a contract role in the Portsmouth area, hybrid-based. You’ll join a small, experienced team in a manufacturing business serving Aerospace, Space and Defence divisions.

Software Developer Certain Advantage is hiring for a Software Developer based in the Portsmouth area. This role is on a contract basis and is hybrid-based.

The Company: We’re working with a Manufacturing business that operates in the Aerospace sector. They design, manufacture and deliver industry-leading commercial aircraft, and a separate Space and Defence division.

The Role:

This role is for a Software Developer -someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results-oriented and driven to succeed.

You’ll be working in a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

• Development of code within an agile environment (scrum).
• Working with the team to design, implement and test features for new product development.
• Task estimation in accordance with sprint planning.

The Individual:

We’re looking for people who can show:

• Java Core (version 8)
• Spring Boot, Spring Framework
• Good knowledge of developing in Spring with Hibernate
• Good knowledge of developing REST within HTTPS
• Developing within a microservice architecture
• Web Services using RESTful APIs
• Distributed systems
• Knowledge and use of software design patterns
• Agile Development Processes
• CI/CD delivery techniques
• Source code management (GIT)
• Use of Issue tracking systems (Jira)
• UML/SysML using Enterprise Architect or similar
