Job summary

Ring Video app team at Amazon in the United Kingdom seeks a talented software development intern to help build features for real-time video streaming used by millions of customers.

You will collaborate with experienced Amazonians, learn Swift, Java, and distributed systems, and contribute to scalable, low-latency solutions in an agile environment while following CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM fields.
• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field.
• Expected graduation between August and November or graduated within the last 24 months.
• Experience from technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience.
• Experience with Swift for iOS development.
• Experience with Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards.
• Experience building Android or iOS applications.
• Understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, clean architecture, or modular design).
• Experience developing native iOS applications using Swift.

About the team

• The Ring Video app team owns the media streaming experiences across the Ring and Blink smart home applications. The team builds native iOS and Android applications using Swift and WebRTC to deliver real-time video streaming to millions of customers worldwide.
• Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Experience with data structure implementation, basic algorithm development, and/or object-oriented design principles
• Expected graduation between August - November , OR graduated within the last 24 months
• Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Experience with video encoding and streaming media standards
• Experience building Android or iOS applications
• Understanding of mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, clean architecture, or modular design)
• Experience developing native iOS applications using Swift
