They are looking for a Software & Control Engineer to join their engineering team, developing advanced embedded software solutions for electrified powertrain systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in developing and delivering software and control solutions for complex automotive embedded controllers.
- Support the development of electrified powertrain and transmission control systems from initial requirements through to production approval.
- Develop algorithms for conventional and electrified powertrain and transmission control systems.
- Support software and controls development throughout the full V‑cycle process, including requirements, design, implementation and validation testing.
- Take ownership of assigned software modules and ensure successful delivery.
- Develop model‑based control solutions using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and/or ASCET‑SD.
- Work with embedded controllers and vehicle communication networks including CAN, CAN‑FD and XCP.
- Apply Functional Safety principles and ensure designs meet automotive safety requirements.
- Support calibration activities and system optimisation.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical input to ensure robust and innovative engineering solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree or Master’s qualification in Automotive Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in software development or controls engineering within the automotive sector.
- Strong experience with algorithm design and implementation within a model‑based environment (MATLAB/Simulink and/or ASCET‑SD).
- Knowledge of embedded software development for automotive powertrain systems.
- Understanding of vehicle communication networks, including CAN, CAN‑FD and XCP.
- Awareness of Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and automotive safety standards.
- Experience with calibration tools and vehicle control systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a structured and analytical approach.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams and influence stakeholders.
- Experience working within a global or matrix engineering organisation is desirable.
