Job summary

SCC is seeking an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) and Licensing Consultant (SC Cleared) based in the United Kingdom to govern software assets, licensing, reporting, supplier management, and lifecycle activities within a secure environment.

The role involves leading SAM activities, guiding licensing across major vendors, supporting compliance programs, and delivering regular management reporting to mitigate licensing exposure while maintaining up-to-date asset records.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience within Software Asset Management (SAM).
• Strong understanding of software licensing models, compliance, and governance.
• Experience supporting software audits and compliance reviews.
• Knowledge of software lifecycle management processes.
• Experience producing management information, reporting, and utilisation analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience working with software suppliers and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Current active SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage Software Asset Management activities across the estate.
• Provide expert software licensing guidance across major software vendors.
• Support software compliance programmes and audit readiness initiatives.
• Produce and maintain licence entitlement, consumption, and utilisation reports.
• Assist with software financial management, forecasting, and optimisation opportunities.
• Manage software request fulfilment processes and associated activities.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on licensing and asset management matters.
• Support supplier and vendor relationship management.
• Administer supplier licensing portals and associated tooling.
• Contribute to governance meetings and provide regular management reporting.
• Identify and mitigate risks relating to software compliance and licensing exposure.
• Ensure software asset records and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
