Job summary

Viridien in Crawley, UK seeks a detail-oriented Software Asset Analyst to help manage software assets, licenses, and compliance across the organization. You will work with procurement, IT operations and business stakeholders to optimize spend and ensure accurate inventories.

The role involves license administration, data collection for audits, and driving cost savings through rationalization. You will report to the HPC Governance and Compliance Director and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in IT, software asset management, procurement, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of Software Asset Management principles and lifecycle processes.
  • Experience with software inventory tools; Flexera experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with IT environments and information security concepts.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical or procedural documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage software asset inventory and license records.
  • Administer software licenses, including terms and conditions, usage rules, restrictions, and product associations.
  • Associate purchases, subscriptions, and renewals with licenses within the SAM tool.
  • Support administration and maintenance of the SAM platform, including upgrades, interfaces, and troubleshooting.
  • Collect and reconcile software installation data to determine compliance positions.
  • Manage inventory collection processes, beacons, subnets, device information, and collaborate with IT Operations to resolve inventory issues.
  • Monitor and maintain the overall health of the Software Asset Management environment.
  • Design and generate reports to monitor software compliance, liabilities, and budgetary information.
  • Analyze exception reports and investigate licensing risks.
  • Provide recommendations and remediation plans to address compliance concerns.
  • Identify underutilized software ("shelfware") and recommend opportunities for license reuse or cancellation.
  • Drive cost savings through rationalization, license recycling, and optimized licensing practices.
  • Coordinate software compliance remediation activities and communicate risks to stakeholders.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and certification efforts.
  • Contribute to software vulnerability management and intellectual property protection initiatives.
