Software Architect - Hybrid (Belfast)

At Ocho, we're proud to be working with a global leader in financial technology who are building next-generation platforms powering critical market infrastructure. They're scaling their Belfast team and are looking for a Software Architect to help define and deliver technical vision across a complex, high-performance environment. This is a unique chance to shape solutions used globally, influence architectural strategy, and provide technical leadership across distributed agile teams.

  • You\'ll take ownership of the architecture vision for an Agile Release Train, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and evolving business needs.
  • You\'ll work on cloud-native, high-availability systems supporting global deployments.
  • You\'ll have a seat at the table alongside Product Managers and Release Train Engineers, shaping delivery from strategy to implementation.
What you\'ll be doing
  • Define and communicate the architecture roadmap, ensuring it enables business value and supports global deployment.
  • Align architecture with enterprise standards while ensuring system design meets real-world merchant and user needs.
  • Support DevOps and CI/CD practices, contributing to release governance.
  • Promote built-in quality by defining and managing non-functional requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, feature teams, and stakeholders across global locations.
What we\'re looking for
  • Strong Experience in software engineering and architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise in one or more modern languages (Java, C#, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure/GCP also valued), microservices, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Deep knowledge of system integration (REST, GraphQL, messaging middleware).
  • Proven experience designing and delivering modern architectures within agile environments.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
  • Background in FinTech or financial markets would be a strong advantage.
