Ceredigion Council is recruiting a Mental Wellbeing & Substance Misuse - Social Worker in Aberystwyth, Wales. The role involves statutory duties and safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults with mental health needs, assessing and arranging relevant care and support.

Applicants must hold a Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Care Wales, and have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply) plus three referees and a valid driving licence with access to a car.

Qualifications

• A relevant Social Work Qualification.
• Registration with Social Care Wales.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS.
• 3 Years of referencing.
• Driving licence with access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory duties under Part 4 and 6 of the SSWBA and other key social care legislations in assessing, supporting and safeguarding children and adults with mental health issues who are in need of care and support or who are at risk of harm by assisting individuals and their families or networks to resolve major difficulties, enhancing their coping skills and establishing their independence and resilience.
• To work within current legislation and statutory guidelines, as well as Council policies, procedures and practice, in order to assess, commission and review support services and planned interventions for those who are at risk or vulnerable.
• To work to ensure quality of service with colleagues in the statutory & independent sector to ensure multi-agency approach in empowering service-users to speak for themselves whilst ensuring they are safe & protected.
