Job summary

Pro Social Partners Ltd in Cardiff is recruiting a permanent Social Worker for Localities, covering Looked After Children and Child Protection. You will work within Cardiff Council, handling complex cases and multi-agency partnerships to keep children’s best interests central.

You'll manage a caseload, undertake assessments, contribute to core group meetings, and support care planning and permanence work for looked-after children. Regular supervision and ongoing CPD support your career.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with current registration in Social Work Wales.
• Experience within Children's Social Care.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Social Worker - Localities (Looked After Children / Child Protection) (Permanent)

Location: Cardiff, Wales

Salary: £40,777 - £45,091 (package up to £50,091)

Retention Payment: £5,000

Contract: Permanent

Pro Social Partners are working with Cardiff Council to recruit permanent Social Workers into their Localities teams, working across Child Protection and Looked After Children.

The Role

• Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
• Undertake Section 47 enquiries, assessments and direct work with children and families.
• Prepare reports and present at child protection conferences and core group meetings.
• Work closely with partner agencies to reduce risk and improve outcomes for children.
• Keep children's voices at the centre of all assessment and planning.
• Support children looked after, including care planning, reviews and permanence work.

About You

• A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work Wales registration (or eligibility to register).
• Experience within Children's Social Care.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
