Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the Learning Disability, Autism North Adults Team. You will empower adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independently, build connections, and access appropriate care and opportunities.

You will work within a supportive, forward-thinking team with supervision, professional development, and flexible hybrid working to balance caseloads and admin support.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE).
• Experience delivering social work services to adults with learning disabilities or autism.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection, and information sharing obligations.

Responsibilities

• Work with vulnerable adults and carers to help them achieve ambitions and independence.
• Provide a flexible service that meets service users' needs within budgetary constraints.
• Implement and promote personalisation and best-practice standards across the team.
• Supervise students and contribute to team development.
