Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Grade 8 Social Worker based in Crewe to support adults 18+. The role involves strengths-based assessments, safeguarding enquiries, care planning and reviewing support to promote independence and wellbeing.

We encourage a proactive, collaborative approach with partners, health professionals and the local community. Excellent IT and communication skills are essential in a busy, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Social Work or equivalent required.
• Experience in statutory social work and safeguarding with adults.
• Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and strengths-based practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess the need for social work service including risk and safeguarding considerations.
• Decide or advise on use of Social Services and/or other resources.
• Liaise with health professionals and partner agencies to ensure best service.
• Manage workload within policies and maintain records.
• Attend supervision and training sessions for development.
• Contribute to evaluation and development of services with others.
• Prepare and participate in staff meetings and admin procedures.
• Share knowledge with colleagues to improve practice.
