Job summary

Kent County Council is looking for a full-time Social Worker to join the Disabled Children’s Team East. You will manage cases across Thanet, Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable, collaborating with Health, Education and voluntary partners.

A strong focus on English-report writing, confidentiality and professional standards is essential. Role includes working with children in need, children in care and possibly safeguarding cases, with supervision and development opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• High standard of written English; able to produce comprehensive reports.
• Ability to engage with children, families and carers.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and DBS enhanced disclosure.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children in need, children in care and child protection cases.
• Work through the care pathway from assessment to permanence, including court work.
• Collaborate with Health, Education and voluntary sector partners.
• Provide regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
