An established industry player is seeking a dedicated professional to join their Family Support Team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with vulnerable families, focusing on Child in Need and Child Protection cases. Full-time position, 37 hours per week, with an immediate start. The role involves working within the Family Support Team, which comprises ASYE, Social Workers, and Senior Practitioners, supported by a Deputy Team Manager and a Team Manager.
The team handles cases related to Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children, from initial proceedings to court. Caseloads typically involve 10 families and approximately 22 children, with a mix of CIN and CP cases. More experienced staff may handle court cases and private proceedings, including completing Section 7 or 37 reports.
Supervision occurs every 4 weeks, focusing on personal and case review. Due to COVID-19, all meetings and visits are conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams, with staff equipped with smartphones and Surface Pro tablets. Staff are generally in the office only when on duty or for planned work, averaging 3 days per month.
The Family Support team has access to FAST and SAIT services for direct work, interventions, and assessments, including parenting skills, boundary setting, managing behavior, and specialized assessments such as PAMS, Adult Attachment Interview, and Story Stems.
