Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Social Worker for the Children With Disabilities Team in Chichester. The role involves working with children and families, assessments, care planning, and collaboration with multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for children with lifelong disabilities.

The position is a 5-month contract with hybrid working and a minimum of two days per week in the office at County Hall, Chichester. Driving is preferred for county-wide travel in West Sussex.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with SW England registration.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care in England.
• Experience in Local Authority Children's Services in direct permanent employment.
• Experience with Children With Disabilities, Child Protection, Children in Need, Looked After Children.
• Strong assessment and care planning skills.
• Excellent communication, report writing and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.
• Conduct assessments, planning, intervention, and review work.
• Engage with Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children.
• Develop and implement outcome-focused plans based on assessed needs.
• Collaborate with Education, Health, Adult Services, and partner agencies.
• Assess risk and safeguard vulnerable children.
• Prepare reports and statutory documentation.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and reviews.
• Ensure adherence to legislation, policies and procedures.
