Job summary

Essex County Council's North Essex Children in Care team is seeking a Social Worker for a 12-month fixed term or secondment, full-time. Based in Clacton-on-Sea, you will work with children and young people up to 18 in care, developing permanency plans and life-story work to help them understand their journey.

You will need a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England, with strong safeguarding, communication, and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with Social Work England as a social worker.
• Demonstrate capability in practice with PCF and KSS, and proficient case recording.

Responsibilities

• Visit children and young people in placement and develop permanency plans.
• Support life-story work to help children understand their care journey.
• Assist some children in returning home to their birth families.
