Job summary

Torfaen County Borough Council is recruiting a Social Worker for the Care & Support and Disabled Children’s Team in Pontypool. You will assess and plan care for children from birth to 18, working closely with families and partner agencies to deliver proportionate support and positive outcomes.

The role offers a permanent full-time contract with supervision, training, and flexible/agile working options. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking assessments and formulating care plans.
• Experience working within a multi-agency setting.
• Excellent communication and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in Care & Support and Disabled Children’s Team to assess and plan care.
• Collaborate with families, children, and partner agencies to promote outcomes.
• Attend supervision and training sessions to develop practice.
• Participate in flexible and agile working arrangements including flexi leave.
• Engage in post-qualifying training and continuous professional development.
