Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our Adult Community team on a permanent, full-time basis, for 37 hours per week.

About You...

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Social Worker, with a "can do" attitude who is registered with Social Work England. You will have at least two years' experience in statutory social services, usually in a local authority setting. You will also need to demonstrate excellent knowledge of best practice and legislation.

We are looking for someone who can confidently respond to both general enquiries and crisis situations within our Adult Social Care Hub. You will support some of our most vulnerable residents, helping them get their lives firmly back on track. Using a strength-based approach, you will keep the people we support at the centre of everything you do by building meaningful relationships and helping them to improve their lives and promote independence. You will also work closely with our partners to deliver integrated, holistic support, ensuring individuals receive seamless care when they need it most.

About The Team...

Our Adult Social Care service is composed of highly professional and supportive multidisciplinary teams. We have a “can do” and “no wrong door” ethos. Our social care teams work together as one service and go the extra mile to ensure our residents have the right support.

Working closely with health and other partners allows us to ensure people avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, and when a hospital stay is needed, we support them to return home as safely and swiftly as possible. We therefore have a range of early intervention and rehabilitation services that focus on keeping people in their own homes.

We also hold regular multidisciplinary forums, ensuring our residents have easy access to health and social care services that work together to provide coordinated, holistic support when it is needed most.

We understand the demands of working in Adult Social Care, therefore we are committed to ensuring our staff feel supported. You will receive regular supervision and access to training. We have a strong focus on supporting our staff to learn, grow and develop to achieve their potential. We listen to our social care staff about the best way to deliver our services and encourage feedback and suggestions on how we can do things better together.

Key responsibilities...

  • You will manage a small caseload, organising and prioritising the workload effectively, with regular supervision and guidance.
  • You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, connecting people and their families to their community and social networks enabling them to live within their own communities.
  • You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure people have the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
  • You will take a strengths-based approach to support people to live the best life they can and reduce dependence on long term care.

Our benefits...

  • 28 days* annual leave increasing to 33 days* after 3 years’ continuous service.
  • The opportunity to buy up to 10 additional days* annual leave per year and sell 5 days.
  • Hybrid working opportunities to support your wellbeing and work-life balance.
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice for an electric car at a fixed monthly cost (subject to eligibility).
  • An inclusive and social working environment with a variety of staff networks.
  • Local government pension scheme.
  • Life insurance cover (linked to the pension scheme)
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and fostering leave.
  • Recognition of continuous service attained within the NHS and UKHSA when calculating some benefits such as annual leave entitlements, occupational maternity/paternity leave, and more. (Terms and Conditions apply – please refer to candidate pack for more information.)
  • Career development through internal and external training opportunities.
  • A great office location next to travel links and Bracknell Forest’s thriving town centre.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support your health and wellbeing.
  • Sports and Social Club.
  • Staff dental and health plans.
  • Discounted leisure centre and gym membership.
  • Supermarket discount.
  • (pro rata for part time)
