Job summary

Leaders in Care are working with a forward-thinking Local Authority in North Wales that is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Adoption Team on an interim basis to support with Post Adoption Support.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience in adoption, family finding, or permanence planning.
  • Knowledge of Adoption and Children Act 2002.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-agency team.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments of prospective adopters, including PAR (Prospective Adopter Reports).
  • Support the matching process and contribute to family finding for children with a plan of adoption.
  • Work closely with regional adoption agencies and other professionals to ensure timely and stable placements.
  • Provide post-adoption support to children, families, and adoptive parents.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Attend relevant panels and contribute to care planning processes.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Demonstrable experience in adoption, family finding, or permanence planning.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance (e.g., Adoption and Children Act 2002).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-agency team.
