Job summary

Leaders in Care are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join the Adoption Team on an interim basis in North Wales. The role focuses on Post Adoption Support within a flexible hybrid working arrangement, under supportive management.

You will assess prospective adopters, assist with matching and family finding, and collaborate with regional agencies to ensure timely placements. A statutory role requiring SW England registration and a strong knowledge of Adoption Act 2002.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Demonstrable experience in adoption, family finding, or permanence planning.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance (e.g., Adoption and Children Act 2002).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-agency team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments of prospective adopters, including PAR (Prospective Adopter Reports).
• Support the matching process and contribute to family finding for children with a plan of adoption.
• Work closely with regional adoption agencies and other professionals to ensure timely and stable placements.
• Provide post-adoption support to children, families, and adoptive parents.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Attend relevant panels and contribute to care planning processes.
