Job summary

Slough Children First is seeking a Social Worker to join the Thrive 0-18 team within the Children in Our Care service. You will hold allocations, safeguard and plan for children aged 0–18 in adoption or long-term care, managing a caseload and developing plans to support each child’s best outcomes.

Hybrid working requires at least three office days per week and the role may involve work with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

Qualifications

• Professional social work qualification or equivalent.
• Social Work England registration.
• Demonstrable experience of working within a busy service.

Responsibilities

• Hold an allocation of children and young people and care plan for each.
• Safeguard children and young people on the allocation.
• Support children and young people to reach their best potential.
• Build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Listen to children's voices and promote their choices, safety and fulfilment.
• Work with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
• Complete age assessments, with support to build the skill.
