South Tyneside Council is seeking a Social Worker to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in South Tyneside. You will contribute to triage, screening and rapid assessment of safeguarding referrals for children and families, collaborating with partner agencies.
The role is a full-time position with a defined career grade, offering progression and an emphasis on restorative and relational practice in a supportive team.

Salary Range: SCP 28, £40,444 to SCP 36, £48,738 per annum, career grade (Inclusive of retention payments, subject to review in March 2028) Progression bars at £42,123, £44,253 and £46,579, depending on experience
The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is an integrated single point of access in South Tyneside providing multi-agency triage and assessment of safeguarding enquiries and requests for support relating to children and their families.
As a Social Worker in the MASH you will play a key role in the daily screening and response to referrals about children living in the South Tyneside area, alongside a well established team of multi-agency partners.
Our June 2026 Ofsted inspection found that services for children and families have improved significantly, supported by a ‘child-focused, stable, skilled and consistent workforce’ committed to restorative and relational practice.
