Job summary

North East Ambition is seeking two experienced Social Workers to join the Assessment Team in South Tyneside. You will be pivotal in establishing supportive relationships with children and families, conducting assessments, and working within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should be registered with Social Work England and have at least two years of post-qualifying experience in front-line safeguarding. Excellent benefits are included.

Qualifications

Salary: SCP 31 £41,771 to SCP 36 £47,181 pa. Career Grade (Bar at £42,839 & £45,091). (Inclusive of Retention Payments, Subject to Review March 2028)

This is a time of exciting change in South Tyneside and we are looking to recruit four highly skilled and experienced Social Workers to work within our busy Assessment Teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for children and families, establishing a collaborative and supportive relationship.
• Conduct assessments and develop safeguarding plans in a fast‑paced environment.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support children and families.

Qualifications

• Registered with Social Work England (SW England).
• At least two years post‑qualifying direct experience of front‑line safeguarding of children.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure and other relevant pre‑employment checks required.
