Qualifications

Job Summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Children in Care team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and families within the Herefordshire area. The Social Worker will work as part of a supportive team, contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people in our care.

As a Social Worker, your duties will include conducting thorough assessments, developing care plans, liaising with other professionals, attending court hearings, and advocating for the best interests of children. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring that their needs are met and that they receive the appropriate level of support. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support and guidance to children in care.

  • Market rate supplement £5,000 per year added to your annual salary
  • Welcome payment £10,000 for experienced social workers joining our children’s teams

Requirements:

  • You will be fully qualified (SW Degree, DipSW, or equivalent social work qualification)
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years’ recent experience in statutory social care and dedicated to delivering positive outcomes for our children.
  • You must be registered with Social Work England and you must have a full driving licence with access to a car.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
