Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is seeking a capable Social Worker to join our mental health team on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in Maidstone. You will work with service users and families to support recovery within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Registered Social Worker in England with a relevant social work qualification, and a strong focus on safeguarding, interpersonal communication, and high-quality report writing.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with Social Worker England, and a relevant social work qualification.
• Experience in mental health settings is preferred or a passion for this field.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, data protection, confidentiality & equality & diversity.
• Excellent literacy skills and attention to detail for accurate reporting.

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is our state-of-the-art, 64 bed mental health facility for adults situated in the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone. The service is purpose built to meet the latest national specifications for improving mental health within a therapeutic environment. The hospital will provide an important and much-needed service for local patients from Kent.

Your Day-to-Day

• You’ll be working 37.5 hours a week
• Work in partnership with service users, their families and other stakeholders to assist with the recovery process
• Forge links and maintain contact with other statutory agencies
• Lead on the social care needs of service users
• Ensure that service users and their families/carers are aware of their legal rights
• Take an active role in safeguarding within the multidisciplinary team
• Provide written reports to the multidisciplinary team and other professionals

You are

• A Registered Social Worker with Social Worker England
• A relevant Social Work qualification
• Experienced in working within a mental health setting, or passionate about working in this field
• Knowledgeable of safeguarding, health & safety, data protection, confidentiality issues & equality & diversity
• An excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Skilled in report writing with excellent literacy skills and attention to detail
