Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Forestwood is looking for a confident Social Worker to join the CAMHS inpatient team, providing psychosocial assessment, safeguarding leadership and discharge planning for young people aged 13-18. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will work closely with service users, families and external agencies, ensure rights awareness and contribute to discharge planning while following statutory responsibilities and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience in mental health settings is desirable.
• CAMHS inpatient experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the social care needs of service users.
• Provide written reports to the MDT and external professionals.
• Support discharge planning and multi-agency collaboration.

You will be part of a supportive MultiDisciplinary Team supporting young people in their treatment and working towards discharge.Key Responsibilities:Work in partnership with service users, their families and other stakeholders to assist with the recovery processForge links and maintain contact with other statutory agenciesLead on the social care needs of service usersEnsure that service users and their families/carers are aware of their legal rightsTake an active role in safeguarding within the multidisciplinary teamProvide written reports to the multidisciplinary team and other professionalsPerson Specification:Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England professional registrationMinimum of 2 years experience working within mental health settings, experience of working in inpatient or acute mental health environments is desirable.Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, safeguarding procedures, and social care frameworksExperience with discharge planning and multi-agency collaborationAbility to manage complex caseloads and competing prioritiesExcellent communication and report-writing skillsDesirable:Experience in CAMHS, inpatient mental health or crisis services.Understanding or training in systemic practices and trauma informed care.Knowledge of SEND frameworks, care proceedings, CETR and contextual safeguarding.Why Cygnet?
