Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates Ltd are seeking a Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This role requires a Social Work Qualification with a minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience in frontline and assessment work.

You will work on referrals, inform decisions on service needs, and contribute to care plans for Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children, with regular visits to ensure provision and effective communication with families.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification required with 3+ years post-qualification experience in frontline and assessment work.
• Experience in child protection and referral and assessment is essential.
• Degree/Diploma in Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) required.

Responsibilities

• Make informed decisions on whether a child needs our service or can access mainstream services.
• Create plans for Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children to meet the child’s needs.
• Conduct regular visits to children and families to ensure appropriate provisions and effective communication.
• Engage with the family and care team to coordinate services and support.

About the team

The team works on a range of different referrals, making informed decisions on whether a child needs our service or whether they are able to use mainstream services. The team is also responsible for creating plans for Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children that make sure the child's needs are being met by everyone caring for and working with them. They will also take part in essential visits to each child and their families on a regular basis, ensuring that they have the correct provisions in place in order to communicate effectively with the child and their families.

About you

Knowledge and experience working within a Frontline Team such as Child protection and Referral and assessment is essential for this role. You will also hold a degree within Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) As well as 3 years post qualifying experience.
