Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a dynamic Social Worker for Adult Social Care in Leominster. You will conduct Care Act assessments, person-centred plans, and Mental Capacity Assessments while collaborating with external agencies to ensure holistic care for adults.

You will work within a supportive culture, receive regular supervision, and have opportunities to specialize. A strong commitment to safeguarding and continuous professional development is essential.

Qualifications

  • Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and a qualifying degree.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and guidance.
  • Aspire to develop into Best Interest Assessor or AMHP.
  • Track record of person-centred assessment and care management.

Responsibilities

  • Take on a variety of adult social work tasks, including Care Act Assessments and support planning.
  • Carry out Mental Capacity Assessments and Section 42 Enquiries.
  • Work with diverse adult populations including disability, mental health, and older adults.
  • Apply a strengths-based approach to empower independence and CHC/s117 work.

Salary: £36,363 to £40,777 + £3,000 welcome payment (please see guidance)

We're looking for someone who:
  • Is a registered Social Worker with Social Work Englandand holds a qualifying degree.
  • Has a deep understanding of current legislation and its real-world impact.
  • Possesses the drive to potentially pursue qualifications in Practice Education, Best Interest Assessor, and/or Approved Mental Health Professional.
  • Collaborates effectively with external agencies to build strong partnerships.
  • Holds a full, clean driving license and is ready to explore our vibrant county
We're looking for an advocate with:
  • A Social Work England registration and a relevant qualification.

  • Engage in crucial CHC and s117 workto ensure seamless support.
