Position: Approved Mental Health Professional – Children’s Mental Health
Location: Cambridge, UK
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £47,167 – £50,167 per annum
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (flexible working options available)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Approved Mental Health Professional specialising in children’s mental health to join our dedicated team in Cambridge. This permanent role offers the chance to work in a supportive, innovative environment and make a meaningful difference to children and young people’s lives. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop risk-informed care plans.

Provide professional leadership in complex cases and support planning.

Mentor and coach junior staff as a Practice Educator.

Manage a caseload autonomously, adhering to statutory and regulatory frameworks.

Chair safeguarding and child protection meetings, prepare reports for professional and legal contexts.

Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated service delivery.

Participate in service development and staff induction programmes.

Monitor team performance and workload using data and management tools.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, Master’s, PGDip, or equivalent).

Registration with Social Work England.

Relevant post-qualifying and/or postgraduate training specific to AMHP duties.

Practice Educator qualification or commitment to achieving this within 12 months.

Full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across the county.

Extensive experience in children’s mental health, risk assessment, and safeguarding.

Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and multi-agency collaboration.

Strong commitment to equality, diversity, and safe working practices.
