Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council in Barry is seeking a dedicated Social Worker for an Intake and Assessment team to provide first response to Information, Advice and Assistance requests. 37 hours per week, Grade 8/9 pay scales, with progression dependent on the appointing officer.

You will work at Contact One Vale, Barry, dealing with vulnerable adults, and collaborate with statutory and voluntary bodies to promote independence. A degree in Social Work and Care Council registration are essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work i.e. Degree, DipSW, CQSW etc.
• Registration with the Care Council
• Experience of working with adults who are vulnerable through illness, disability or age related frailty
• Assessment of Adult service users and carers.
• Working in partnership with statutory/voluntary organisations to promote the independence of service users

About The Role

Pay Details

Grade 8, SCP 26 - 30 £38,510 - £42,123 / Grade 9, SCP 31 - 35 £43,149 - £47,665 p.a.

Salary on appointment will depend upon and experience as determined by the appointing officer.There is no automatic progression from Grade 8 to Grade 9.
