Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting a Team Manager for Children’s Services. You will lead and develop a social work team, ensuring high‑quality services for children, young people and families.

The role requires supervision, coaching and keeping to statutory duties, with opportunities for professional growth and flexible working options. The successful candidate will have at least three years post‑qualifying experience in statutory social work, and proven experience in line management

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience in statutory social work with children and families.
• Ability to support and develop colleagues through coaching, mentoring and reflective practice.
• Previous experience of direct line management responsibilities is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage, co-ordinate and develop the work of a social work team to deliver high-quality services to children, young people and families.
• Provide supervision, consultation and leadership to team members while ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
• Work collaboratively with other Team Managers under the direction of the Children's Services Manager.
