As a Service Manager, you will oversee three dedicated Assessment and Safeguarding teams focused on children in need, those requiring protection, and cared for children. You will also lend your expertise to the Children with Disabilities team, sharing duties with another seasoned Service Manager and the Head of Service.

What you will do
  • Lead and manage the Assessment and Safeguarding teams to ensure robust support and planning for children in need, in need of protection, and cared-for children, including those in private and public law proceedings.
  • Guide and develop the Children with Disabilities team to provide tailored and effective support services.
  • Collaborate closely with another Service Manager and Head of Service to ensure best practices and strategies are executed efficiently.
  • Implement and enhance Darlington’s unique relational practice model in daily operations.
  • Offer mentorship and leadership to your teams to cultivate a thriving, resilient, and dynamic work culture.
Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Recent managerial experience in roles such as Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager.
  • Significant frontline experience in managing Adults’ or Children’s Services.
