Job summary

Bury Council is seeking a dedicated worker to support the Principal Social Work Team in entering, progressing and developing social workers, mainly with students, apprentices and newly qualified social workers. The role also mentors ASYE participants and coordinates practice placements while supporting Practice Educators.

The post involves representing the department at local, regional and national levels within the Social Care workforce and contributing to higher standards of social work

Responsibilities

• Support PSW Team manager with Social Work entry, progression and development for students, apprentices and NQSWs
• Mentor ASYE social work learners and SW Apprenticeship participants
• Coordinate practice placements and support Practice Educators completing professional standards
• Represent the department/ council in local, regional and national Social Care workforce activities
• Contribute to raising the quality of Social Work practice across health and adult social care
