We are now looking for asocial video producerto film, edit and produce engaging video and graphical content that will grow the audience forFootball Weekly and other Guardian shows on our social media and video channels

We're on the lookout for creative producers who are passionate about visual storytelling and ready to help shape the future of our visual content for a suite of Guardian podcasts. One of our big ambitions is to take our award-winning podcasts and bring them to life in new engaging, visual formats - whether that's short form social clips, animation, or innovative video storytelling.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract or staff secondment.

About the role

  • Working with podcast producers to brief guests and prepare them for filming episodes of Football Weekly and other Guardian shows as required.
  • Work with producers and executive producers to generate ideas for how episodes can be presented and promoted on social channels.
  • Generate ideas for additional content that can be filmed and produced to engage social audiences.
  • Work closely with senior and executive producers to guarantee the highest levels of creativity, editorial and legal standards
  • Play an active part in the Guardian’s podcast team and look for opportunities to showcase our journalism and values
  • Edit engaging social video content from our leading podcasts

About you

  • Experience of using video editing software, ideally Adobe Premiere
  • Experience with After Effects and Photoshop is desirable.
  • Experience of shooting video in and outside of studio settings
  • Experience of directing multi-camera video podcast shoots Understanding of YouTube channel management
  • Understanding what community engagement across social channels
  • Understanding of audience metrics on YouTube and social channels Knowledge of search engine optimisation
  • Ability to work to regular tight deadlines
  • Knowledge and passion for football and an interest in global news as well as an appreciation of the evolving podcast world
  • Ideally, you’ll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role.

You'll have six weeksof annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase anadditional 5 days. Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5% then we will contribute 8-12% (depending on your age).
