Job summary

GLL in Woolwich Waves is seeking a Sports Activator to help grow social sports through planning, delivery and positive participant engagement. You will run welcoming, well-organised sessions and adapt activities to meet varied abilities, while guiding participants and addressing their needs.

This role offers progression within the leisure sector with flexible hours, training support, and a Living Wage employer framework. A uniform is provided and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have Sports Activator Essentials training, Enhanced DBS, and safeguarding qualification.
• Excellent customer service and ability to adapt sessions for varied abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Arrive ahead of time to prepare for the activity.
• Complete set up and set down of equipment.
• Welcome customers to the session.
• Explain the rules and regulations.
• Organise teams and games whilst ensuring rotation.
• Be ready to adapt sessions to meet the varied abilities of participants.
• Remain present throughout the session as main point of contact.
• Finish with a summary and an informal chat with participants.
• Provide feedback where required.
