Job summary

GLL at Leatherhead Leisure Centre in Mole Valley is seeking a dedicated Children’s Activity Instructor to engage children through birthday parties and holiday play schemes, ensuring safety and fun. This is more than a job, it’s a career with a charitable social enterprise.

You’ll follow the Customer Charter, supervise activities, log safeguarding issues, and help create an inclusive, welcoming environment where every child can participate and enjoy themselves.

• You are friendly and approachable as well as being imaginative, creative and a positive role model to the children that you supervise.
• Ability to confidently oversee different party activities and create a fun, welcoming and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the commitments outlined in the Customer Charter, ensuring standards are met.
• Ensure all compliance is followed.
• Follow all relevant administration procedures.
• Ensure every child is given equality of opportunity and is included and supported.
• Oversee Birthday parties and ensure activities run smoothly and efficiently.
• Keep areas and equipment clean as per the cleaning matrix.
• Log and report safeguarding issues to the Sports Officer.

As a Children’s Activity Instructor, you willbe responsible for engaging and inspiring children through our birthday parties and holiday play scheme, ensuring their safety and enjoyment while creating a fun and engaging environment.

What you’ll do:

• Comply with the commitments outlined in the ‘Customer Charter’, ensuring that standards are maintained as stipulated.

• Ensure that all compliance is followed.

• Ensure that you follow all relevant administration procedures.

• Ensure that every child is given equality of opportunity and they are all included and supported.

• Oversee our Birthday parties and ensure that all activities run smoothly and efficiently.

• Keep all areas and equipment checked and cleaned as per the cleaning matrix.

• Deal with, log, and report all safeguarding issues to the Sports Officer.

• This is a Flexible position. Hours of work will be negotiated with you in line with the needs of the service; flexible working may be possible. Working from home is not possible in this role.
