Job Description:

Location: Sawston, Cambridge, UK (Hybrid: 3 days per week on site)

Opportunity Type: Six month contract

We’re looking for a Social Video Producer to help us take our social-first video output to the next level on an initial six month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who lives and breathes short-form video for LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. You’ll be part of a collaborative and nimble team where your creativity, initiative, and technical know-how will be highly valued. If you love creating social video, and enjoy working end-to-end from idea to post-production, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality short-form videos tailored for various social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok) for Somersault's clients, and Somersault's marketing and socials.
  • Editing and Post-production: Edit video content with an eye for storytelling, pacing, sound design, and platform trends; maintain brand consistency across projects.
  • Concept Development: Collaborate with the team and clients to pitch creative ideas for social-first video series and standalone content.
  • On-Set Production: Shoot video content on-location or in-studio, with confidence using camera equipment, lighting, and audio tools.
  • Platform Expertise: Stay ahead of content trends, algorithm changes, and best practices across relevant social media platforms.
  • Client Collaboration: Engage directly with clients where required – from brief to delivery – providing expertise on how to best optimise video for social.
  • Asset Management: Ensure organised storage of video files, project assets, and final outputs, following internal file management standards.

Experience Required:

  • 2–4 years of hands-on social video production experience.
  • Strong portfolio of short-form video work for brands or agencies across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
  • Proficient in CapCut, Descript or similar, and Adobe Premiere Pro ( are a bonus).
  • Confident operating camera, sound and lighting equipment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and content formats.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset – you’re excited to try new formats and push creative boundaries.
  • Bonus: experience using After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • The quality and impact of produced content (views, engagement, audience feedback).
  • Timeliness and efficiency in delivering projects.
  • Ability to generate creative concepts that align with client objectives.
  • Contribution to Somersault’s visibility and creative reputation on social platforms.
  • Feedback from clients and internal stakeholders on collaboration and creative direction.

Useful to know:

  • Genuine opportunity for full time employment following initial contract period.
  • A friendly, ambitious and highly creative team.
  • Access to great kit and studio space.
  • Opportunity to shape and contribute to agency and founder social content activity.
