We’re Kiss the Hippo — the UK’s most innovative and sustainable specialty coffee company. From our organic roastery in London, we craft exceptional coffee with care for people and planet. We’re growing fast, and we’re on the lookout for creative minds who want to grow with us.

The Role

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Social Media & Content Manager to lead our organic social presence and bring the Kiss the Hippo brand to life across channels. From launching new coffees to capturing behind-the-scenes café content, you’ll be hands-on in planning, creating and publishing standout content that reflects our brand, builds community, and drives engagement.

This role sits within the Ecommerce team and works closely with our marketing, design and café teams. You’ll be responsible for managing the content calendar, reporting on performance, and shaping how Kiss the Hippo shows up online — every day.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the organic social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Facebook
  • Plan and create platform-specific content (photo, video, Reels, Stories, UGC, product launches, and café storytelling)
  • Manage and maintain the content calendar in line with brand campaigns and business goals
  • Write engaging copy in Kiss the Hippo’s tone of voice across captions, posts and newsletters
  • Monitor trends and identify new content opportunities
  • Respond to DMs, comments and mentions to grow an engaged community
  • Support customer service across social channels when needed
  • Analyse performance, prepare monthly reports, and use insights to improve content
  • Work cross-functionally with the ecommerce, marketing and design teams to ensure consistency
  • Support wider content creation needs — including email campaigns and website copy

Requirements

  • 3–5 years experience in a social or content role, ideally in a lifestyle, food & beverage, or ecommerce brand
  • A strong creative eye and proven track record of producing engaging social content
  • Confidence filming and editing short-form video for Reels/TikTok (bonus if you shoot on your phone)
  • Excellent copywriting skills and an understanding of how to adapt tone for different formats
  • A love for storytelling and brand building through organic channels
  • Familiarity with design/editing tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut or similar
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for sustainability, design, and great coffee
  • Competitive salary (£35,000)
