Job summary

West Lothian Council in Scotland is recruiting for a part-time Social Care Worker to provide compassionate support to residents, respecting their rights and choices. The role involves joint responsibility with other staff and acting as a key worker for several individuals.

Your duties include home visits, care plan preparation, monitoring progress, delivering personal care, maintaining records, and working with families and agencies.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Social Care or willingness to work towards and complete within SSSC timelines.
• Understands the needs of older people and how to support them.
• Familiar with National Occupational Standards and SSSC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to residents respecting their rights and choices.
• Act as key worker for individuals, including home visits and care plan prep.
• Prepare written residential care plans and monitor updates.
• Deliver direct personal care as outlined in care plans.
• Maintain residents' files and document daily activities per guidelines.
• Collaborate with families, carers and agencies to provide services.
• Support residents during times of loss and manage small monetary tasks.
