Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a Lead Care Worker to provide person-centred care in a community or residential setting, developing and reviewing support plans in partnership with service users.

The role requires flexible evening and weekend work; you will contribute to continuous service improvement and may rotate shifts including early and late.

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under PVG.
• PVG scheme or update check required; overseas criminal record check if spent time abroad.
• SSSC registration required within 3 months of employment.
• Two references, one from current or most recent employer.

Job Description

Lead, as a key worker, in the provision of person centred care with holistic support of individuals, in a community or residential setting, whilst promoting equality and choice for all. Responsible for development, recording, implementation and review of personal care and support plans in partnership with service users.

This role will require flexible, evening and weekend working.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to work toward continuous improvement of the post for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Shifts include a mixture of lates and early - 07.30-15.00 and 14.30-22.00. Includes weekend working.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
