Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Allachburn Team in royal Deeside. The role requires flexible, evening and weekend work, with full training and support provided to become part of an established team.

The post is fixed-term until 04/04/2027 and involves regulated work with PVG disclosures for Children and/or Protected Adults, plus mandatory checks. An enhanced rate applies for weekend hours and overtime accordingly.

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• A PVG Scheme check and an Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable.
• You will need to provide two references, one from your current or most recent employer.
• SSSC registration is required within 3 months of employment.
• A Privacy Notice detailing how your data is used is available or can be provided on request.

Come work with the Allachburn Team in our prominent home in the heart of royal Deeside. We are looking for a caring and empathetic person who is diligent, enthusiastic and hard working. The right candidate will be given full training and support and will become part of the established team.

This role will require flexible, evening and weekend working.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

The hourly rate is £14.71 per hour increasing to £15.13 after 2 years of service.

Please note, the position advertised does not meet the salary threshold required for sponsorship.

Rates and Allowances

The hourly rate is £14.71 per hour.

• Weekend Working: If an employee works between midnight Friday to midnight Sunday, he/she is entitled to an enhanced rate of pay of time and one third for all hours worked during this period.
• Overtime: Where the service requires an employee to work more than 37 hours in a week, this is regarded as overtime and is paid at an enhanced rate of time and a half for all hours worked.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
