Job summary

Our client in the UK is seeking a Senior SOC Architect to design and evolve Next-Gen Detection and Response capabilities for major organisations. You will define architectural blueprints, lead threat detection strategies, and collaborate with engineers and threat hunters to optimise dashboards and tooling.

Experience across SIEM/SOAR platforms and EDR/XDR/NDR tooling, plus cloud environments, is essential. Hybrid work pattern applies with on-site presence 2–3 days per week and a commitment to

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Operations architecture and Next-Gen Detection and Response design.
• Understanding of Security Operations Centres and working with SOCs.
• Experience producing High/Low Level Design docs for security solutions.
• Familiarity with TOGAF and architecture frameworks.
• Hands-on with SIEM and SOAR platforms (prefer Google SecOps).
• Experience with EDR, XDR, NDR tooling (CrowdStrike, Corelight, Defender XDR).
• Experience across hyperscaler cloud environments.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, able to engage from end users to board level.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve Next-Gen Detection and Response capabilities for clients.
• Define architectural blueprints to guide engineers on implementation and tooling.
• Lead threat detection and response strategies, deciding the best course of action against threats.
• Develop processes, governance and ways of working to support the target operating model.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Threat Hunters to analyse dashboard data and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead migration and implementation strategies and plans for security solutions.
• Research emerging tools and approaches to keep detection and response capabilities cutting edge.
• Support clients in evolving their security operating models and refining tooling selection.
