Job summary

DXC Technology in the United Kingdom seeks a Security Operations Center professional to monitor, triage and respond to security incidents on a 24/7/365 shift. The role covers first-line threat identification, classification and incident handling, with collaboration to improve playbooks and processes.

The candidate will participate in handovers across shifts, assist with investigations, and stay updated on evolving cyber threats impacting DXC and its clients.

Qualifications

• Understanding of networking concepts; Windows and Linux OS basics; and log analysis.
• Ability to use Elastic Stack for threat hunting and analysis.
• OSINT techniques to aid threat identification.
• Clear, concise communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Effective self-management to meet assigned tasks on time.
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge within the team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review SIEM alerts 24/7 to detect, triage and respond to security incidents.
• Serve as first line of response by identifying, validating and classifying threats.
• Collaborate to improve use-cases, documentation, processes and playbooks.
• Perform handover/takeover to ensure continuity across shifts.
• Assist senior analysts with investigations and service-status updates.
• Suggest improvements to SOC processes to streamline workflows.
• Leverage training tools to maintain and grow technical skills.
• Stay informed of current cyber threats affecting DXC and its customers.
