Job summary

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two Tobacco Dependence Advisors to join the Hillingdon Stop Smoking Service. The role focuses on providing stop smoking support in local community settings, via groups, 1:1 and phone interventions.

You will work within CNWL’s Addiction Directorate to promote evidence-based cessation methods and meet national standards. The service emphasises training, professional development, and improving health outcomes for diverse populations in

Qualifications

• A good level of general education to include GCSE/English & Maths
• NCSCT or Level 2 Smoking Cessation training completed
• Additional NCSCT modules for specialist priority groups

Responsibilities

• Provide smoking cessation advice and support through groups, one-to-one and telephone interventions.
• Deliver cessation interventions in line with evidence and national standards.
• Use motivational techniques; assess motivation to quit and maintain relationships with clients.
• Develop action plans and discuss pharmacological support suitable for clients.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of evidence-based cessation approaches.
• Attend bespoke training for career development.
• Demonstrate knowledge of health behaviour change evidence.
• Engage in ongoing learning via NCSCT training.
• Assess motivation to quit to determine the best course of action.
• Review personal objectives against the service work plan.
• Participate in regular reviews of service provision including venues and timing.
