Job summary

Amwins Global Risks in London seeks an underwriting professional to identify and underwrite profitable risks by developing and maintaining broker relationships. The role focuses on driving growth of GWP and commissions through effective broker engagement and efficient inquiry handling.

The ideal candidate will have detailed SME insurance knowledge, class-specific underwriting experience, and strong communication to engage with brokers and meet targets within FCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Detailed insurance knowledge and experience in the Commercial SME market.
• Class-specific underwriting experience.
• Proven experience in Sales/Development to engage with Brokers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Clear drive and targets focus.
• Fast-paced decision making and broker account development.
• Knowledge of FCA regulation and guidelines for commercial customers.
• Proficient use of company IT systems.
• Accurate data and information management.

Responsibilities

• Make prompt, sound underwriting decisions within authority.
• Contribute to profitable growth of the division’s portfolio.
• Support planned income from GWP and commissions.
• Ensure new and renewal business and inquiries are handled promptly.
• Build relationships with brokers to enable profitable growth.
• Identify opportunities and barriers to growth with brokers.
• Suggest potential new products/covers/sectors for Unicorn Underwriting.
• Review management information for broker panel and ensure compliance.
